Biography
Dr. Menendez completed a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at Tufts University in Boston, followed by advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at the internationally renowned Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush program in Chicago. While in Chicago, he served as assistant team physician for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox.
Dr. Menendez has published over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has presented his research at national and international meetings. He is one of the most widely published shoulder and elbow specialists in the Western United States.
He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, the world’s most prestigious shoulder and elbow surgery journal, and is also a peer-reviewer for numerous high-impact orthopedic journals. He is an elected member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society.
He serves as Core Faculty of the Oregon Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship and Director of Research of the Oregon Shoulder Institute.
Dr. Menendez is a citizen of the world, having lived in Argentina, Italy, and Spain before moving to the United States. Outside of work, Dr. Menendez enjoys spending time with his family and dog, playing tennis, drone photography, and hiking.​
His clinical expertise is on advanced minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder and elbow. He has specialized training and particular interest in complex total shoulder arthroplasty.
